Section 3 - The Bedroom

The Bedroom is a dark room. The description of the bedroom is "[unless visited]If there was a empty bedroom here the whole time, why were you sleeping in the laundry room?[paragraph break][end unless]In the center of the room is a king sized bed, with a few pillows on it."

A chest of drawers is in the bedroom. On it is an ugly ceramic lamp. The lamp is a device, fixed in place and switched off.

Rule for printing the name of the the lamp: say "[one of]ugly lamp[or]lamp[or]green lamp[or]hideous lamp[at random]". Understand "ugly lamp" or "green lamp" or "hideous lamp" or "ceramic lamp" as lamp.

The description of the lamp is "The green ceramic base is pretty hideous, but the lamp shade itself [if lampshade is on lamp#base]looks[otherwise]looked[end if] nice." The lamp#base is part of the lamp. The lampshade is on the lamp#base. The lampshade is a hat. It is portable. The initial appearance of the lampshade is "[unless lampshade is on lamp#base]There's a lampshade lying on the floor." The description is "It fits the bedroom lamp perfectly - or your head." Understand "lamp shade" or "shade" as lampshade.

The lightbulb is hidden under the lampshade. The description of the lightbulb is "One of those curly energy efficient ones. On the side is stamped '60W EQUIV.'" Understand "bulb" or "lightbulb" or "cfl" as the lightbulb.

Instead of taking the lightbulb: say "It's cool to the touch, but you hesitate to take it out for fear of electrocuting yourself. Plus, it lights up the room."

After wearing the lampshade:

say "You put the lampshade on your head, like the party animal you clearly are.[paragraph break][paragraph break][unless player is wearing a pair of pants]The lack of pants really completes the look. Classy.[otherwise]Stay classy."

Before switching off the lamp: now the bedroom is dark.

Before switching on the lamp: now the bedroom is lighted.

Instead of taking the lamp: say "It's kind of big to be carrying around with you all day. Best to leave it where it is."

The lower drawer is part of the drawers. It is a closed, openable container. Understand "bottom" or "bottom drawer" as lower drawer.

The middle drawer is part of the drawers. It is a closed, openable container.

The upper drawer is part of the drawers. It is a closed, locked, openable container. The small brass key unlocks the upper drawer. Understand "top" or "top drawer" as upper drawer.

The description of the drawers is "A sturdy black dresser with three drawers in it. The top drawer has a small keyhole in the center[if upper drawer is locked] and appears to be firmly locked shut[end if]." Understand "dresser" as the chest of drawers.

The keycard and the action figure are inside the upper drawer. The description of the keycard is "A card with a magnetic stripe on the back. The front of the card reads 'Nevrcrack Security Systems'.". Understand "key card" or "magnetic card" or "key" or "card" or "mag card" as the keycard.

The description of the action figure is "A plastic figurine of a popular character. It's still in the original packaging."

Instead of opening the action figure, say "It's worth more if you don't do that."

A white t-shirt is a kind of shirt. A black t-shirt is a shirt. six white t-shirts, a black t-shirt, and a hoodie are in the middle drawer. The hoodie is a jacket. The description of the hoodie is "It looks warm and fuzzy hooded sweatshirt." The description of the black t-shirt is "100% Cotton. That's what the label says, anyway." The description of the white t-shirts is "The tag inside the shirt proudly reads '16% cotton blend!'[paragraph break]You briefly wonder what the other 84% of the shirt is made out of, before deciding you'd rather not know."

Understand "black shirt" or "white tshirt" as a black t-shirt. Understand "white shirt" or "white tshirt" as a white t-shirt. Understand "hooded" or "sweatshirt" or "sweat shirt" as the hoodie.

A pile of DVDs, an empty box of condoms, and a rat's nest of cell phone chargers are in the lower drawer. Hidden under the DVDs is the small brass key. Understand "stack" or "dvd" as DVDs.

The description of the chargers is "[if player can touch the cellphone]It looks like your battery is already charged.[otherwise]You don't have anything that needs charging.[end if] Besides, it would take hours to untangle that mess."

Instead of taking the chargers, try examining the chargers. Understand "charger" or "cell charger" or "battery charger" as the chargers.

before taking the brass key:

if player is holding dvds:

say "Suddenly the stack of DVDs doesn't look so interesting. You place them on the floor.";

move the DVDs to the bedroom.

In the bedroom is a bed. The bed is an enterable supporter. On the bed are some pillows. The bed and the pillows are scenery. Hidden under the bed is a pair of jeans and lots of dust. dust is fixed in place. A pair of jeans is a pair of pants. Hidden under the pillows is a mint. A mint is edible.

The description of the bed is "A king sized bed. Why weren't you sleeping here?"

The description of the pillows is "They're so soft you can feel something hidden underneath."

A mint is a thing. The description of a mint is "A red and white swirled piece of candy. How it wound up in your bed is anyone's guess." Understand "candy" or "sweets" or "chocolate" as a mint.

The description of the jeans is "Slightly torn, but they probably came that way." The pocket is part of the jeans. The pocket is an open container. The carrying capacity of the pocket is 2. Understand "pants" or "pair of pants" or "torn pants" as the jeans.

Instead of taking dust: say "You try to scoop up a handful of dust, but it flows through your fingers."

Inside the pocket is a watch. The description is "The watch reads: [time of day]".

Instead of inserting a noun into the jeans:

try inserting the noun into the pocket.

After taking the jeans:

Let contents be the list of things contained in the pocket;
