Chapter 2 - First Floor

Section 1 - Hallways and Doors

The Main Hallway is a room.

The description of the Main Hallway is "[unless visited]You open the doorway from the basement and step into a hallway. All the other doors are closed, and you don't hear anyone around.[paragraph break][end unless]It's a fairly nondescript hallway. Carpeting, recessed lighting. Standard fair for hallways. Along the walls are a number of bookcases.[paragraph break]A door leading south goes downstairs to the laundry room."

A bookcase is in the Main Hallway. In it are a plethora of books, a glass trophy and a frame. The bookcase is open and transparent. In the frame is a $2 bill. The frame is transparent. The bookcase is scenery. Understand "book" as books. The description of the trophy is "Some sort of award by the looks of it." Understand "case" or "book case" as the bookcase.

shattered trophy is a broken glass.

After dropping the trophy:

say "You clumsy fool, that was made of glass![paragraph break]You drop the trophy to the floor, and it shatters into a million pieces";

remove the trophy from play;

now the shattered trophy is in the location;

record "Vandal" as achieved;

Instead of taking books, say "You pull a book off the shelf and begin to flip through it.[paragraph break]It's full of words. [paragraph break]'Who would want to read this many words' you think.[paragraph break]You carefully put the book back in the bookcase."

The description of the bill is "You look at the $2 bill through the glass. Jefferson stares back at you. It's obviously valuable if someone framed it like this."

The description of the books is "You pick a book at random:[paragraph break][one of]'How to Write A Video Game in 48 Hours' by @qrunchmonkey[or]'An Encyclopedia of LOLCats' by Cain Hayes[or]'Memes for Dummies'[or]'This Is The Title Of My Book' by Guy Somebody[or]'Desert Bus: Drive Your own Adventure' by Elomin Sha[or]'That Looks Like the Kind of Manifesto A Lunatic Would Write' by Kris Harris[or]'Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes' by Oolon Colluphid[or]'Who is this [quotation mark]God[quotation mark] Person Anways?' by Oolon Colluphid[or]'Where God Went Wrong' by Oolon Colluphid[or]'Cover Story' by Chester Q. Instead of opening frame, say "It's probably worth more if you don't break open the frame."

The bedroom door is west of the Main Hallway and east of the Bedroom. The bedroom door is a door. It is closed and openable.

The kitchen door is east of the Main Hallway and west of the Kitchen. The kitchen door is a door. It is closed and openable.

The living room door is north of the Main Hallway and south of the Living Room. The Living Room Door is a door. It is closed and openable.

The sliding door is north of the bedroom and south of the The First Floor Bathroom. The sliding door is a door. It is open and openable. Understand "pocket door" or "bathroom door" as the sliding door. The initial appearance of the sliding door is "A sliding door [if open]half opened [end if]leads [item described direction]."

The bathroom door is east of the first floor bathroom and west of the living room. The bathroom door is a door. It is closed and openable.
